UCF's Smith And Torres Honored By CollegeFootballNews.com

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF running back Kevin Smith and senior place kicker Michael Torres were both honored by CollegeFootballNews.com officials as the website released its annual first, second, third and honorable mention All-America teams. Smith once again shared first-team running back honors with Arkansas Junior Darren McFadden, while Torres was an honorable mention selection.

Smith and McFadden are both consensus All-Americans and have shared first-team honors on eight of nine All-America teams that have been released by various news outlets and organizations. Smith led the NCAA Bowl Subdivision with 12 100-yard rushing games this season, including a 279-yard, four touchdown MVP effort in the Bright House Networks Conference USA Championship Game.

Torres connected on a school-record 19 field goals in 2007, missing only twice. He also boasts the school-record for consecutive makes as the Thiells, N.Y. native has currently connected on 13 straight.

The Knights will conclude the 2007 campaign on Dec. 29 in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl vs. Mississippi State. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. ET and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
