Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF women's basketball head coach Joi Williams was pleased to announce Tuesday the signing of two future Knights to National Letters of Intent. Aisha Patrick (Rockledge, Fla.) and Racine Davis (Plantation, Fla.) will both play for the Black and Gold during the 2008-09 season.
Patrick, a 5'10" guard hailing from Rockledge, Fla., was selected to the All-Space Coast second team after leading Rockledge High School to an 18-6 record her junior year. The Rockledge, Fla., native averaged 18.6 points and 5.4 steals per game, while scoring 29 points on three different occasions during the 2006-07 campaign.
Patrick's 22 points, six rebounds, and five steals per game this season made her a 2007-08 McDonald's All-America nominee as well as a candidate for Ms. Florida Basketball.
"Aisha will be a great addition to our program," Williams said. "The thing that I love most about her is her strength and defensive ability. She is a very versatile perimeter player and a great rebounding guard."
Davis, a 6'3" forward out of Plantation High School, averaged a double-double as a junior with 12 points and 11 rebounds per game. She received All-Broward County First Team honors last season after leading her team to a 15-7 overall finish.
The Plantation, Fla., native is currently averaging 10 points and 13 rebounds on the season.
"We are also excited to have Racine join us next season," Williams said. "She is an athletic forward who will add to our post presence with her consistency and great rebounding instincts. Racine also runs the floor very well and will fit in with our program tremendously."
