Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF volleyball team concludes Conference USA play this weekend when it hosts Southern Miss Friday Nov. 9 at the Education Gym on campus, before traveling to Hattiesburg Sunday Nov. 11 for the second of a two-game series with the Golden Eagles. Friday's 7 p.m. contest is the final home match of the season and also marks "Senior Night" for the Black and Gold, while Sunday's 1 p.m. match is UCF's season finale.
Seniors Schanell Neiderworder (Aurora, Colo.) and Cassie Ramaekers (Blue Grass, Iowa) will both be honored for "Senior Night" on Friday.
The Knights (9-20, 0-14) look to snap an eight-match losing streak when they face Southern Miss this weekend.
Offensively, the Knights are led by sophomore Erin Campbell (Kansas City, Mo.) who recorded a double-double with 15 kills and 16 digs in UCF's 3-0 loss to Marshall Nov. 4. Campbell has also registered a team-leading 312 kills in 2007.
Junior middle blocker Jenny Heppert (Lawrence, Kan.) ranks 10th in C-USA with a 1.08 blocks per game average and is tops on her team in solo blocks (20), block assists (92), total blocks (112) and service aces (35). Heppert has also earned her way onto the UCF career records list, ranking eighth in both block assists (218) and total blocks (262).
Southern Miss is currently 10-20 on the season and 1-13 in C-USA. Morgan Johnson leads the Lady Eagles with 314 kills in 2007 and is coming off a 12-kill, six-dig performance in Southern Miss's, 3-0, loss to East Carolina.
