Heppert Garners Academic All-District Honors

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Junior Jenny Heppert (Lawrence, Kan.) of the UCF volleyball team has been named to the ESPN The Magazine All-District III First Team, CoSida announced Thursday. The middle blocker currently holds a 4.0 cumulative grade point average and is working toward a degree in biology.

Heppert was the lone junior and one of only two players from the state of Florida to make the six-person all-district first team.

On the court, Heppert has played in all 29 matches this season and leads the team in service aces (35), solo blocks (20), block assists (92) and total blocks (112). She also ranks 10th in Conference USA with a 1.08 blocks per game average.

Heppert is the program's first player to make the Academic All-District III First Team. In 2004, Emily Watts was named to the third team and in 1997, Renata Menchikova was named to the second team.
