HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Despite a double-double from sophomore outside hitter Erin Campbell (Kansas City, Mo.), the UCF volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (30-27, 30-21, 30-24) Conference USA match at Marshall on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Knights fall to 9-20 overall and 0-14 in league play.
The Thundering Herd (20-8, 13-1) hit .341 for the match, compared to .169 for UCF.
Campbell totaled 15 kills and 16 digs. Freshman setter Blaire Brueggemeyer (Burleson, Texas) recorded 32 assists for the Knights and freshman defensive specialist Kristin Petrasic (Carollton, Texas) added 15 digs.
Marshall was led by Kelly-Anne Billingy with 14 kills. Stephanie Cahill had a double-double in the win with 11 kills and 10 digs. Elizabeth Fleming recorded 42 assists for the Thundering Herd.
The Knights will play their home regular-season finale on Friday at 7 p.m., hosting Southern Miss for Senior Night. The contest will be played at the Education Gym on the UCF campus. Admission to the match is free.
