UCF To Face Tulsa In The 2007 Bright House Networks Conference USA Championship Game

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The two hottest football teams in Conference USA will square off for the league title on Saturday. UCF will bring a six-game winning streak into their match-up with Tulsa on Saturday in the 2007 Bright House Networks Conference USA Championship Game on Saturday. The Knights will face C-USA West Division champion Tulsa, who has won five straight since dropping a regular season road game to UCF at Bright House Networks Stadium on Oct. 20.

The title game will be televised live nationally on ESPN and can be heard on Sirius Satellite radio on channel 127. The game serves as a rematch of the inaugural C-USA title game played at the Citrus Bowl in 2005. The Golden Hurricane won that contest 44-27.

The Knights (9-3, 7-1 C-USA) won the 2007 regular-season game by a score of 44-23 as junior running back Kevin Smith rushed for 179 yards and scored a career-high four touchdowns in the victory. Smith, who leads the nation with 2,164 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns, shared C-USA Offensive Player of the Year honors with TU quarterback Paul Smith, who has the Golden Hurricane ranked among the top offenses in the country.

The Golden Hurricane (9-3, 6-2) lead the NCAA Bowl Subdivision in total offense with an average of 548.6 yards per game. TU has scored at least 48 points in four straight games. TU's signal caller ranks second in the nation in total passing yards with 4,327 and his 39 scoring tosses are a new school record.

In the Sunshine State, the contest can be heard on the UCF-ISP Sports Network and its flagship station, WQTM 740-AM in Orlando. Network affiliates include WMMV 1350-AM (Cocoa), WDCF 1350-AM (Dade City), WORD 1340-AM (Daytona Beach), WMMB 1240-AM (Melbourne), WLVJ 1040-AM/WKAT 1360-AM (Miami, Fort Lauderdale, South Palm Beach County), WPSL 1590-AM (Treasure Coast, North Palm Beach County) and WZHR-1400-AM (Zephyrhills).

Marc Daniels will provide the play-by-play, Gary Parris will have the analysis and Jerry O'Neill will man the sidelines for the UCF broadcast. Scott Adams is the studio host.
