LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF men's basketball team will conclude one of the toughest stretches in school history on Sunday, facing Penn State to conclude the Old Spice Classic at 11 a.m. at Disney's Wide World of Sports. The consolation bracket contest will be televised live nationally on ESPNU.
The Knights (2-2) have suffered a pair of close losses against nationally-ranked squads at the eight-team tournament. Last night, No. 18 Kansas State held on for a 73-71 win over UCF in overtime. The Knights opened the tournament on Thursday against No. 19 Villanova, losing 76-68.
Penn State (2-2) is also 0-2 at the tournament. Yesterday, the Nittany Lions fell to Rider (82-73). The squad features two of the best players in the Big Ten Conference - Geary Claxton and Jamelle Cornley.
