Greenville, N.C. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF volleyball team was defeated by East Carolina, 3-0 (18-30, 19-30, 14-30) Friday night in a Conference USA match at Minges Coliseum. The Knights fall to 9-19 on the season and 0-13 in the league with the loss.

East Carolina hit .394 in the match, including a .432 clip in the first game. UCF hit .074 in the three-game affair.

Erin Campbell (Kansas City, Mo.) led the Black and Gold with 10 kills and eight digs, while Stephanie Serna (San Antonio, Texas) had six kills for UCF.

Andrea Youngblood (Castle Rock, Colo.) added two service aces in the match. The sophomore ranks eighth in C-USA with a 0.46 aces per game average in league games, recording 13 of her 17 total aces this season in conference contests.

The Pirates (14-14, 5-8 C-USA) were led by Kelley Wernert's 21 kills, while Peyton Thompson hit .625 with 10 kills. Katie Koop hit a match-high .875 with seven kills for East Carolina.

The Knights are back in action Sunday when they travel to Huntington, W.Va., to take on Marshall. The Thundering Herd holds the best mark in C-USA with a 12-1 league record. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
