UCF Volleyball Welcomes The Citadel to the New UCF Arena

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF volleyball team concludes its non-conference schedule Tuesday when it welcomes The Citadel to the new UCF Arena. The match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. The Knights' (8-12, 0-6 Conference USA) contest against the Bulldogs marks the first meeting between the two squads.

This season, the Black and Gold is 8-6 in non-conference play, which includes wins over Chattanooga, UNC-Wilmington, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and George Mason on the road. The last time the Knights played a non-conference match at home was Sept. 6-8 when they hosted the UCF Invitational. The Black and Gold earned the tournament crown with a perfect 4-0 record on the weekend, with wins coming over Florida Atlantic, North Florida, Central Michigan and Montana State.

Jenny Heppert (Lawrence, Kan.) leads the Knights in non-league matches with 67 total blocks, which includes 11 solo blocks, and 26 service aces. Stephanie Serna (San Antonio, Texas) has a team-high 162 kills in non-conference action, while freshmen Blaire Brueggemeyer (Burleson, Texas) and Kristen Petrasic (Carrollton, Texas) register the most assists (432) and digs (153), respectively.

The Citadel (3-17, 0-7 Southern Conference) has picked up wins this season against Charleston Southern, North Carolina A&T and Savannah State. Junior Rachel Sanders has totaled 270 kills and 203 digs for the Bulldogs this year, both team-highs. Setter Emily Hill also tops the stat charts with 624 assists, while Amanda Beal has totaled 32 block assists and six solo blocks this season.

Following the UCF match, the Citadel will face-off with Bethune-Cookman in a non-conference match-up at the new UCF Arena at 6 p.m.
