TITUSVILLE, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Led by junior Kelly McNeill (Coral Springs, Fla./Taravella HS), the UCF women's cross country team finished fifth at the FLRunners.com Invitational at Chain of Lakes Park on a windy Friday evening.

In her season debut, McNeill went 19:55.56, three seconds short of her personal-best time in the 5K, to place 11th in the field of 69 athletes. Freshman Ocean Cohen (Sarasota, Fla./Riverview HS) ran No. 2 for the Knights and took 13th overall in a time of 20:05.30.

Senior Kristen Zieminski (Sarasota, Fla./Riverview HS) finished 23rd at 20:55.70 followed by sophomore Jaclyn Johnson (Valrico, Fla./Bloomingdale HS) in 33rd at 21:41.93. Middle distance standout and sophomore Stephanie Knapp (Englewood, Fla./Lemon Bay HS) rounded out the UCF line-up, going 22:37.28 to land in the top 50.

Miami won the overall women's title with 44 points. Embry-Riddle (46 points) took second and Nova Southeastern (89) was third. UCF, whose runners were all making their season debuts, collected 104 points for fifth place.

Despite a downpour at mile three of the 8K men's race, freshman Miles Harris (Newberry, Fla./Oak Hill HS) finished 18th in a time of 28:01.77. He was the lone Knights' entry in the event.

The Knights' complete line-up returns to action at the Stetson Invitational in DeLand, Fla. on Friday, Oct. 12.
