Rain Alters Tennis Tournament

Oct. 28, 2007

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Inclement weather shortened play at the UCF Fall Invitational on Sunday as only two men's tennis teams were able to compete at the UCF Tennis Complex. In addition to the host Knights, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast and North Florida were participating in the three-day event.

On Sunday, Florida Atlantic and North Florida players were able to compete in singles competition. There were no doubles matches due to rain.

UCF freshman Claudio Romano (Valencia, Valenzuela) completed his flight B singles match, which began on Saturday. He posted a 4-6, 7-6 (5), 11-9 win over Florida Gulf Coast's Ervin Garobovic.

UCF players were in action at the tournament on Friday and Saturday. The Knights will conclude their fall schedule next weekend at the Florida State Fall Invitational in Tallahassee.
