? A day after posting an even-par 72 to open the event, Kentucky's Andy Winnings carded a five-under 67 on Monday. His two-day total of 139 (-5) is good for the tournament lead.
? Wake Forest's Dustin Groves set a tournament record with a 6-under 66 on Monday. He recorded a 77 (+5) on Sunday.
? Programs from seven different conferences are participating in the tournament this season. The Pacific-10 (4), Atlantic Coast (4), Southeastern (3), Big 12 (3) and Conference USA (2) all have multiple teams competing.
? A day after Tiger Woods watched the tournament, PGA TOUR star Lee Janzen was in attendance on Tuesday. Janzen talked with members of the SMU team after the Mustangs concluded play.
