Erin Campbell Records Seventh Double-Double in the Knights' Loss at UTEP

El Paso, Texas (www.ucfathletics.com) - Sophomore outside hitter Erin Campbell (Kansas City, Mo.) recorded her seventh double-double of the season with a team-high 14 kills and 12 digs, despite the UCF volleyball team falling to Conference USA-foe UTEP, 3-1 (26-30, 30-28, 21-30, 26-30), Sunday afternoon in El Paso, Texas.

With the loss, the Knights fall to 0-10 in C-USA action and 9-16 overall. The Miners improve to 2-9 in the league and 8-14 on the season with the win.

Stephanie Serna (San Antonio, Texas) also had double-digits in kills in the match with 13, which included six kills in the fourth game. Kelly Weaver (Port Orange, Fla.) and Kerry Brown (Elburn, Ill.) added nine and eight kills, respectively, with Brown hitting a team-high .389.

Defensively, Cassie Ramaekers (Blue Grass, Iowa) led UCF with 20 digs, while Brown had four total blocks for the Black and Gold.

The Knights had seven service aces in the contest, which included two from junior Jenny Heppert (Lawrence, Kan.), while the Miners only had two.

UCF won the second game of the match behind four kills from Campbell and three kills apiece from both Serna and Weaver. Ramaekers had seven of her digs in the win, while freshman Blaire Brueggemeyer (Burleson, Texas) recorded 13 of her team-high 44 assists in game two.

The Knights return home for a pair of C-USA match-ups with UAB and Memphis Oct. 26 and 28. Friday's contest with the Blazers at 7 p.m. is also Knightro's Trick-or-Treat Party, where kids are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to the match and will be able to receive an autograph from Knightro prior to the match at 6 p.m. Kids will also be able given candy, spirit beads, posters and more fun gifts at the contest. Sunday's 1 p.m. contest against Memphis marks UCF's "Dig for the Cure" match, where fans will be able to donate money per dig the Knights earn against the Tigers. All donations will benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation and aid in the fight against breast cancer.
