UCF Returns To Bright House Networks Stadium For A C-USA Tilt With Tulsa

Oct. 19, 2007

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Following a two-game road trip, the UCF football teams returns home to Bright House Networks Stadium this Saturday to face Tulsa in a Conference USA clash at 4 p.m. The Knights and Golden Hurricane have met only once before when the teams squared off in the inaugural C-USA Championship Game in 2005.

The Knights (3-3, 1-1 C-USA) will look to reverse their fortunes in this Saturday's contest after dropping a 44-27 decision to Tulsa (4-2, 2-1 C-USA) at the Florida Citrus Bowl.

Much like the first meeting, a high-scoring affair could be on the agenda for Saturday. Tulsa brings a potent offense to Orlando. The Golden Hurricane enter the game with the nations' second-ranked offense, averaging 572.8 yards per game.

Tulsa leads C-USA averaging 39 points per game, while the Knights are also scoring at a high rate, averaging 33.3 points per game. UCF is one of four teams averaging more than 30 points per game in C-USA.

A pair of Smiths lead each respective offense, as UCF's Kevin Smith ranks third nationally, averaging 152.2 rushing yards per game and has added 11 ground scores. Tulsa's Paul Smith is one of the nations' top passers, throwing for 368.7 yards per game and 18 air scores.

In the Sunshine State, the contest can be heard on the UCF-ISP Sports Network and its flagship station, WQTM 740-AM in Orlando. Network affiliates include WMMV 1350-AM (Cocoa), WDCF 1350-AM (Dade City), WORD 1340-AM (Daytona Beach), WMMB 1240-AM (Melbourne), WLVJ 1040-AM/WKAT 1360-AM (Miami, Fort Lauderdale, South Palm Beach County), WPSL 1590-AM (Treasure Coast, North Palm Beach County) and WZHR-1400-AM (Zephyrhills).
