PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Behind a pair of top-10 individual showings, the UCF men's golf team finished third at the 16-team Prestige at PGA WEST on Tuesday afternoon. The Knights concluded the three-round event at 869 (+5) and finished ahead of several top programs in the team standings.

UCF senior David Johnson (Palm Bay, Fla./Melbourne) and freshman Jhared Hack (Sanford, Fla./Circle Christian) tied for sixth in the individual standings at 213 (-3). Hack recorded an even-par 72 on Tuesday. The tie for sixth was a season-best for both players, who have competed in all three of UCF's events this fall.

Three Knights concluded the tournament in the top 25 as junior Greg Forest (Palm City, Fla./Martin County) tied for 23rd at 219 (+3). Sophomore Nuno Henriques (Funchal, Portugal) finished in a tie for 41st (224, +8) and senior Chris Anderson (Lake Mary, Fla./Seminole) tied for 81st at 238 (+22).

Ninth-ranked Charlotte (854, -10) won the event, followed by No. 1 Stanford at 862 (-2). The Knights finished ahead of fourth-place Minnesota by six strokes. Pepperdine and TCU tied for fifth at 876 (+12).

UCF entered the day in second, four strokes behind Charlotte. The tournament marked the first time this season that two Knights recorded top-10 finishes.

The Knights will return to the links on Sunday, hosting the prestigious Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational in nearby Windermere. The three-day tournament features 18 of the best squads in college golf.
