Oct. 12, 2007

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF women's golf team will host a celebrity amateur golf tournament in conjunction with the UCF Challenge to help raise support for what is quickly emerging as one of the best women's collegiate events in the country.

The celebrity amateur event will take place on Nov. 12, at the Red Tail Golf Club with a shotgun start for 12 p.m. Proceeds from the fundraiser will help benefit the second annual UCF Challenge, which is slated for March 9-11 at the same course in Sorrento, Fla., just outside of Orlando.

The 2008 UCF Challenge field features some of the top programs in the country, including three-time defending NCAA Champion Duke. The Blue Devils won the inaugural UCF Challenge a year ago.

If you are interested in playing in the amateur event, contact Carlos Fernandez at cmf@midwestdoorandwindow.com or UCF head coach Emilee Klein at Emilee@athletics.ucf.edu. For more details click here for the UCF Challenge Brochure.
