Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Freshman Blaire Brueggemeyer (Burleson, Texas) and sophomore Erin Campbell (Kansas City, Mo.) both recorded double-doubles for the Knights Friday night despite falling short, 3-1 (30-28, 26-30, 24-30, 22-30), to Tulsa at the new UCF Arena.

With the loss, UCF falls to 9-13 overall and 0-7 in Conference USA matches.

Brueggemeyer had a match-high 48 assists and 10 digs, while Campbell tallied 16 kills and 19 digs against the Golden Hurricane (17-5, 5-2 C-USA). Outside hitters Stephanie Serna (San Antonio, Texas) and Kelly Weaver (Port Orange, Fla.) also recorded 16 and 12 kills, respectively, in the match.

"I was pleased with the way we came out attacking tonight," head coach Meg Colado said. "We never gave up a big run and I was proud of the way we were able to consistently bounce back."

Jenny Heppert (Lawrence, Kan.) led the defense with four total blocks and added three service aces. Cassie Ramaekers (Blue Grass, Iowa) also aided the defensive effort with 15 digs.

The Knights took game one from Tulsa behind a seven kill, two service ace performance from Serna, leading the team with a .500 hitting percentage in the opener. As a team, UCF posted a .233 clip and out-performed the Hurricane 20 digs to 18.

UCF continued to battle the Hurricane throughout the match, scoring no less than 22 points in each of the three remaining games. The Knights hit the ball consistently, totaling more kills than Tulsa in both the second and fourth games.

Tulsa's Fabiola Nepomuceno had a match-high 25 kills, while setter Julia Silva fell one dig shy of her third triple-double of the season with 45 assists, 11 kills and nine digs.

The Knights play the last of their three-match home-stand Sunday against SMU at the new UCF Arena. The match is schedule to begin at 1 p.m.
