On Saturday, August 25, in the hours leading up to the UCF Knights Football Day, the UCFAA Office of Athletics Communications ventured around the new north section of campus, known as the Athletics Village. For many football fans on game day, this area is also known as the the Gold Zone.

"From what I saw, the dust has finally settled and the construction zones have been lifted," said Assistant Athletics Director Joe Hornstein. "To see students and visitors walking in and out of the new shops around the new UCF Arena, sitting in beach chairs on the memory mall, shopping at the new bookstore, gazing into the Arena front doors...what a great Saturday afternoon. I am glad to be a part of this, but I am envious of today's students, who get the full advantage of the residential, social and athletics presence at their front doors."

The tour was captured in 141 photos that show a close-to-finished appearance around the Memory Mall and Alumni Green, plus the new paved lot behind Garage D; the town center feel that surrounds the new UCF Arena and Towers apartments; the new street by Jay Bergman Field leading to Bright House Networks Stadium - Victory Drive; the Insurance Office of America Plaza outside of the Roth Tower...and much much more.

The Knights open the 2007 campaign on Sept. 1 at NC State. The team will make its home debut in Bright House Networks Stadium vs. Texas on Sept. 15. Season tickets for the first season at the on-campus stadium are still available and can be purchased by calling 407-UCF-1000.
