ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - As UCF's inaugural game at Bright House Networks Stadium quickly approaches, members of the UCF Athletics Association facilities staff began lining the field on Thursday morning. The group plans to paint yard-lines, hash marks and the coaches' boxes this week.
Under the guidance of director of capital projects Paul Bender and director of sport turf and grounds Robert Sample, senior groundskeeper Scotty Patterson and intern Joshua Dubbs began lining the field early Thursday morning. On the week leading up to the Knights' home opener with Texas on Sept. 15, the group will paint numbers and logos.
Construction inside the 45,000-seat stadium should conclude shortly.
The Knights open the 2007 campaign on Sept. 1 at NC State. The team will play six games at home this year. Season tickets for the first season at the on-campus stadium are still available and can be purchased by calling 407-UCF-1000.
