Johnson is in his first year with the Knights after attending Brevard Community College. He tied for 12th at the National Junior College Athletic Association Championship in the spring.

After earning NJCAA All-America Second Team honors as a freshman, he received honorable mention recognition last season.

The U.S. Amateur Championship is open to amateur golfers who have a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 2.4.

Head coach Nick Clinard's UCF squad opens the fall campaign on Sept. 23 at the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate in Birmingham, Ala. The Knights are coming off of a season in which they participated in the NCAA East Regional and finished the campaign ranked 39th in the country.
