Orlando, Fla. (www.UCFAthletics.com) - UCFAthletics.com, the official website for the UCFAA, recently ranked No. 1 in Conference USA for traffic page impressions, as reported in the CSTV online July monthly rankings. It is the first time the UCF athletics website has received the highest amount traffic within C-USA. UCF first joined the CSTV online network in November 2004.
Additionally, the site placed No. 28 nationally among CSTV's 215 collegiate online partners in page impressions and No. 31 for unique visitors. Both national figures are tops among CSTV schools outside of the traditional "big six" conferences.
Prior to this past July's traffic statistics, UCFAthletics.com placed No. 3 amongst C-USA's 12 members and behind the official athletic sites at East Carolina and Memphis. Nationally, the site placed as high as No. 53 this past April.
"This is a proud accomplishment for this program's marketing efforts and growth," said Joe Hornstein, Assistant Athletics Director for Communications. "Your official website should be your most visible marketing tool and our traffic numbers can now back that up."
Hornstein's Office of Athletics Communications manages the site.
In July 2007, UCFAthletics.com saw a massive 74 percent increase with 68,476 unique visitors coming to the site as compared to 39,398 in July 2006. UCFAthletics.com also had a 56 percent increase in page views with 517,128 in July 2007 versus 332,294 the previous July.
"We're definitely doing more with our website today than a year ago," added Keith Tribble, UCF's Director of Athletics and Executive Vice President, who started his own on-line blog upon his hiring in 2006. "This past year, UCFAthletics.com has gone through a redesign, a re-launch, twice as much published content for all of our sports and now we've launched the off-shoot UCFGameday.com, the official online resource for gameday at the new Bright House Networks Stadium. I really like what we are doing with our website."
"We want the UCF fan to know that no one covers the Knights like UCFAthletics.com," added Hornstein.
