Roesch Earns Tennis Academic Honor

Aug. 13, 2007

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF's Jimmy Roesch (Melbourne, Fla./Eau Gallie) has been named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team. A health sciences major, Roesch is entering his junior campaign with the Knights.

The honor marks the second-consecutive year that Roesch was been recognized by the ITA for his work in the classroom. In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must have a grade-point average of least 3.5 and be a varsity letterwinner.

Roesch went 10-5 during the 2006-07 campaign. Against Conference USA opponents, he won all three of his contests.

Roesch's ITA honor marks the fourth in the last three years for the Knights. Since head coach Bobby Cashman took over the program in 2000, UCF players have earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition 12 times.
