UCF Football Fall Camp Report: Day Nine

Aug. 10, 2007

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF football team reached the halfway point of fall camp on Friday as the Knights concluded their ninth practice overall and third in full pads. Head coach George O'Leary had his team spend extra time working on redzone offense and defense during the morning workout.

"It is like anything else, I think there are good plays and bad plays down there," O'Leary said on his team's work in the redzone. "I see improvement on execution and that is what you are looking for down there. We are throwing the ball a little better. They got some installation in as well.

"The defense is playing better down there too. There is a lot more competition there. In fact, I went in the redzone a lot more today than normal. We are going to continue to do that because we have to get better at it."

The Knights spent additional time on cycling through more special team drills. The squads worked on all facets of the punting game and also got some work in on kickoff returns.

After going through some periods of team work, O'Leary closed the practice with Oklahoma drills for the second time of fall camp.

The Knights will resume practices on Saturday with a 3:20 p.m. workout.
