JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Former UCF women's basketball standout Keunta Miles (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./South Broward HS) was recently hired as an assistant coach at the University of North Florida.
A four-year letterwinner at forward, Miles averaged 11.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per game for the Knights during the 2006-07 season. She also recorded a team-high five double-doubles, including a 16-point, 11-rebound effort against UNF in the 2006 UCF Holiday Classic. The performance earned her a place on the all-tournament team.
Miles also excelled off the court, garnering Conference USA All-Academic team recognition, and received her bachelor's degree in criminal justice from UCF this past spring. During the 2007 NCAA Women's Final Four, she participated in the Nike So You Want to Be a Coach program, an event at which UCF head coach Joi Williams gave the welcome speech.
Among the responsibilities that Miles will undertake at UNF are guiding the Ospreys' post players, coordinating the film exchange and travel and recruiting.
