Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF head women's volleyball coach Meg Colado announced on Friday the hiring of assistant coach Trevor Theroulde. He joins the Knights' staff after spending four seasons as a volunteer assistant coach at Marshall.
While with the Thundering Herd, Theroulde helped Marshall claim the 2005 Conference USA Championship crown after preparing them for two trips to the Mid-American Conference Finals in 2002 and 2004.
"I am excited to have the opportunity to welcome Trevor to my staff," said Colado. "His knowledge and experience with the game of volleyball will help our team prepare for the tough Conference USA competition we will be facing this season."
Prior to volunteering at Marshall, Theroulde served as the head coach of the Trinidad and Tobago Female National Team and was a public relations officer for the Trinidad and Tobago Volleyball Federation. As head coach for the national team, he was rewarded with the Caribbean Volleyball Coach of the Year Award in 1997.
Theroulde was a four-year member of the Dean's List and graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in physical education sports marketing and management from Marshall in 2005.
While living in Huntington, W.Va., Theroulde assisted in the formation of the River City Volleyball Club in 2002 and stayed on to coach the squad until graduating in 2005.
Off the court, Theroulde has fifteen years of experience as a teacher at the Ministry of Education in Trinidad. While with the ministry he developed physical education programs for 5-12 year olds and supervised the Continuous Assessment Program Pilot Project in Primary Schools as well as the Pilot Project for the St. George Educational District.
Theroulde will replace former assistant Juanita Hitt, who opted to leave UCF after the birth of her son.
