Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - More than 100 UCF football fans turned out for the 2007 edition of the UCF Football Women's Clinic: Football 201 on Saturday at the Wayne Densch Sports Center.

For the second consecutive year, the UCF football staff was able to give an inside glimpse of the program to an eager group of females wanting to learn more about the game of football.

"This is a really fun event and for the second straight year we had a great turnout," UCF head coach George O'Leary said. "You can tell everyone was having a good time and hopefully we will see a lot of these ladies come out to the new stadium and enjoy the 2007 season."

The four-hour event included sessions on equipment, athletic training, offensive and defensive strategy as well as special teams. The participants then moved to the Nicholson Fieldhouse where they were able to participate in drills that included taking handoffs, passing, blocking, receiving, covering, tackling, rushing the passer and other fundamentals of the game.

The event closed out with a punt-catching contest where three participants were able to show their skills to win sideline passes to a game of their choice and a homecoming VIP package for the upcoming 2007 season.

Event sponsors McDonald's and Florida Hospital were on hand to give out goody bags, a t-shirt and provide a meal following the clinic.
