ORLANDO, Fla. (www.UCFAthletics.com) - UCF senior cheerleaders Brittney Draper (Callahan, Fla.) and Randy Brown (Tampa, Fla.) recently received All-America honors from Inside Cheerleading magazine.
Both Draper and Brown were members of the 2006-07 cheerleading squad that captured the national championship. Brown and freshman Kimmy Barker (St. Petersburg, Fla.) also took sixth in the national partner stunt competition. The Fourth Annual Inside Cheerleading All-America Team consists of 13 women and 13 men who were chosen based upon on enthusiasm, athleticism, repertoire of skills, crowd-leading ability, spirit and overall personality.
"Randy stands out among the nation's elite male cheerleaders in that he is multi-dimensional," said UCF head coach Linda Gooch. "His superior physical conditioning is evident when you watch his routines which are loaded with multiple elite tricks and creative transitions. Randy has also received the team's Leadership Award the past two seasons."
"Brittney showed off her amazing skills in our championship routine," Gooch continued. "She was in every partner stunt and every elite basket. She also understands the meaning of teamwork. Her willingness to commit herself to successfully making this transition was instrumental in our team winning the championship."
It was the second All-America honor for Brown as he was one of three Knights named to the team in 2006.
