ORLANDO, Fla. (www.UCFAthletics.com) - Marcia Mansur-Wentworth, head cross country and women's track coach at UCF for the past 13 seasons, resigned from her post effective immediately.
During her tenure with UCF, Mansur-Wentworth's athletes earned 25 NCAA Regional qualifications in track. Prior to the team's move to Conference USA, the Knights had won eight of the 10 Atlantic Sun Conference championships with Mansur-Wentworth garnering 10 A-Sun Coach of the Year Awards.
Since becoming a member in C-USA during the summer of 2005, the men's cross country team finished as high as fourth and the women as high as fifth at the conference championships, while the women's track and field squad was seventh at conference indoor championships in 2006. The Knights finished ninth at both the 2006 outdoor championships and the 2007 indoor championships.
A search for the new UCF head cross country and women's track coach will begin immediately.
