Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF's pitching ace Allison Kime (Brandon, Fla.) was named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Southeast Region First Team announced Wednesday for her performance on the field this season. With the selection, Kime will appear on the ballot for the All-American selections which will be released May 30.
Kime held a 24-13 record this spring allowing only 33 earned runs in 266.1 innings of work. The junior hurler shattered numerous single-season pitching records at UCF topping the charts with a 0.87 ERA, 266 strikeouts, a .159 opposing batting average and 15 shutouts in 2007. Her 0.87 ERA is fifth best in the entire country.
The junior also set a plethora of career records as a Knight, ranking first all-time in strikeouts (488), strikeouts per seven innings (6.93), ERA (1.22), innings pitched (493.0), batters struck out looking (116) and is tied for the top spot in complete games (60) and shutouts (20).
Kime is only the third player in UCF history to receive All-Southeast Region first-team honors, joining Jania Shinhoster (2002) and Stephanie Best (2003) who also earned selections.
