HOUSTON, Texas (www.UCFAthletics.com) - UCF distance runner Jenny Clausen (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial HS) was named Conference USA Women's Freshman of the Year at the conclusion of the 2007 C-USA Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Rice's Wendel D. Ley Track on Saturday.
Clausen opened up with meet with a second place showing in the 10,000-meter run. She crossed the finish line at 35:53.98 to earn all-conference recognition. She then took fifth in the 5,000m with at time of 17:39.55 on Saturday night.
A third-team all-conference honoree in cross country, Clausen owns three school freshman records. She also ranks third all-time at UCF in the 3,000m and 5,000m, while she is second all-time in the 10,000m.
The Knights finished fifth in the team standings at the 2007 C-USA Championship.
