IRVING, Texas (www.ucfathletics.com) - Conference USA announced its all-league tennis honors on Tuesday and a pair of UCF standouts received accolades. Freshman Johan Beigart (Vaxjo, Sweden) was named to the All-C-USA Men's Second Team and sophomore Elvira Serrot (Madrid, Spain) was selected to the All-C-USA Women's Second Team.
Beigart is the second UCF men's player in as many years to garner all-conference second team recognition. He went 17-6 in singles play this spring, going 11-2 at the No. 3 position. Beigart went 4-0 against C-USA competition in 2007.
Serrot concluded her sophomore year with a 16-13 singles record. She posted an 11-7 mark at the No. 1 spot. Serrot won 11 of her last 14 matches in the spring, while also posting a straight-set victory in the first round of the C-USA Championship against East Carolina.
The women's honor marks the second-consecutive season that a Knight has been named to the All-C-USA Second Team.
UCF recently concluded its second campaign in C-USA.
