UCF Men's Golfer Nuno Henriques Named To All-Conference USA Freshman Team

May 1, 2007

Texarkana, Ark. (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF men's golfer Nuno Henriques (Funchal, Portugal/The Pendleton School) was named to the All-Conference USA Freshman Team in announcement made by league officials on Tuesday following the conclusion of the league championship in Texarkana, Ark.

"I was glad to see Nuno's name on the list because he is well-deserving of that honor," head coach Nick Clinard said. "He is going to be a great player for us and we definitely saw glimpses of that this season."

Henriques posted a pair of top 20 finishes during his rookie campaign, including his best finish of 10th at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate during the fall. He also tied for 17th at the Hootie At Bulls Bay Invitational in late March.

Henriques posted his low round of the season at the latter event in Awendaw, S.C. when he opened the three-round tournament with a 67 (-5). He also had five rounds of par or better during the season, including a 70 (-2) in the second round of the C-USA Championship.

Sophomores Kyle Davis (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) and Greg Forest (Palm City, Fla./Martin County) were both members of the 2006 All-Conference USA Freshman team.
