Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Following each spring football practice, a general question will be asked of a selected group of Golden Knights. Today's question was:
What has been the toughest part of spring practices?
Shane Smith
#32 Sophomore Fullback
"We are just trying to get together as a team right now. There isn't really one hard thing at practice, we are just trying to come together as one. Individually we need to work harder. That's probably the hardest thing but other than that we are just trying to come together as a team."
Willie Thornton
#12 Junior Wide Receiver
"The tempo is much higher than last year. We know we have to rebound from last season. We know we didn't play to the best of our ability last year so we have to come out and pick up the tempo. That's the biggest thing."
Marquel Neasman
#3 Sophomore Quarterback
"The toughest part I would have to say is being able to just bounce back after you made a big mistake. Being able to bounce back and take on that leadership role, for me personally, I would have to say that would be the toughest thing."
Rocky Ross
#5 Junior Wide Receiver
"Being a receiver I feel that physically we have one of the toughest positions out there just by the amount we run. But that's why we are receivers because that's what we are able to do, run all day. So I would say the toughest part would be the amount that we have to run and keeping up the endurance. But that is alright with me because that's what I'm here to do."
Jared Kirksey
#51 Junior Defensive End
"The toughest part of spring practices would have to be learning new plays. Basically just learning the plays and a whole new scheme. It's been more mental this spring. During winter workouts we did a lot of weightlifting and conditioning. That was the hard part and now it's just all mental out there on the field."
