KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (www.UCFAthletics.com) - UCF's Jenny Clausen (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial HS) broke the school's freshman record as she won the 10,000-meter run at the Sea Ray Relays on Friday night.

Clausen, who established new UCF freshman records in the 3,000m and 5,000m earlier this season, finished the race in 35:41, over 70 seconds ahead of the second-place runner. She ran the second half of the race faster than the first, gaining two and a half second per lap.

The previous record of 36:08.81 was set by Sonja Shedden in 1999.

The Sea Ray Relays continue on Saturday, April 14 when the duo of junior Elizabeth Miller (Orlando, Fla./Timber Creek HS) and redshirt freshman Jamie Rzepecki (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora HS) races in the 3,000m steeplechase, while the rest of the Knights compete in the Miami Elite Invitational.
