Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The second-annual UCF Baseball Golf Classic is set for this weekend and prospective players still have a chance to sign up. Fans are welcome to take part in the festivities with the golf tournament taking place Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Shingle Creek Golf Club, while the alumni game is set for Sunday with a barbecue at 11:30 a.m.
To enter into the golf tournament as an individual for $125 or as a foursome for $500, or for more information on the alumni game, fans may call the UCF Baseball Office at (407) 823-3260. They may also get in touch with assistant coach Craig Cozart through e-mail at ccozart@athletics.ucf.edu.
The golf package includes greens fees, range balls, course contests, complimentary beverage cart service and a post-tournament buffet featuring burgers, hot dogs, baked beans, potato chips and cookies. It all begins with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. on a course that was named one of the top 40 best new courses in the country by GolfDigest.
The alumni game gets started with a barbecue at 11:30 a.m. at Jay Bergman Field, which is located on the UCF campus. Cost of attending is $10. Soon afterwards, there will be a home-run derby at approximately noon and the game itself is scheduled after the derby's completion. The derby and alumni game is free for all fans.
