Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF football team will hold its final scrimmage and workout of the spring season at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the practice fields located next to the Wayne Densch Sports Center. Among the spectators who will be in attendance are dozens of former Golden Knights as the Football Lettermen's Club is also holding its annual Spring Weekend on Friday and Saturday.
The third live scrimmage will conclude the 15 sessions allotted by the NCAA for spring football. The scrimmage is one of several events planned for the former lettermen.
Among the other events the lettermen will be participating in are a golf tournament at the Rio Pinar Country Club with the current UCF coaching staff on Friday and the Lettermen Induction Luncheon on Saturday following the scrimmage. The 2006 senior class will be officially inducted into the Lettermen's Club at this event.
The former players will also have the opportunity to tour Bright House Networks Stadium during their visit to Orlando. The new 45,000-seat on-campus stadium is set to open on Sept. 15, 2007 when the Texas Longhorns come to Central Florida to play the Knights.
Fans and lettermen attending Saturday's scrimmage are encouraged to park in the North Parking Garage located at the intersection of Gemini and Orion. Also, with the anticipation of a large crowd, fans are asked to not bring any type of chair into the practice facility.
