Conference USA Moves 2007 Baseball Championship to East Carolina

April 5, 2007

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Conference USA announced Thursday that East Carolina University will now serve as the host institution for the 2007 C-USA Baseball Championship May 23-27. Tulane was originally on tap to host the event, but renovations on Turchin Stadium are still on-going because of Hurricane Katrina.

East Carolina and Clark-LeClair Stadium was scheduled to host the 2008 tournament. Because of the change, Tulane will now take the reigns for next year's C-USA Championship.

For ticket information, fans may check out www.ecupirates.com beginning April 9. All-session tickets will be $60. The top eight teams of the nine-team league will make the postseason tournament.

The Golden Knights resume the C-USA regular season this weekend when Southern Miss comes to town. The first game is set for Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Jay Bergman Field.
