UCF Men's Tennis Faces UNC Greensboro at Home

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - After a close victory over Florida A&M on Sunday, the UCF men's tennis team will take on UNC Greensboro at home on Wednesday. Play will begin at 2 p.m. and admission to all home matches at the UCF Tennis Complex is free.

UCF improved its record to 8-3 by defeating Florida A&M last Sunday, 4-3. Sophomore Tarek Ben Soltane (Tunis, Tunisia), freshman Johan Beigart (Vaxjo, Sweden) and sophomore Brock Sakey (Gulf Breeze, Fla./Gulf Breeze) all recorded victories in singles on the day. In doubles action, Sakey and sophomore Norman Alcantara (Mexico City, Mexico) recorded an 8-5 win at No. 1 and Beigart joined junior Sinan Sudas (Adana, Turkey) at No. 2 to record an 8-2 victory.

The Golden Knights have won five-straight contests.

UNC Greensboro is 4-6 overall with wins over High Point, Winston-Salem State, UNC Asheville and Navy. One of the Spartans top players, Martin Redelinghuys is 8-7 overall in singles. In doubles action, Andrey Bubnov and partner Arsel Kumdereli are 9-5 on the season.

The Golden Knights' next match will be against Clemson on Thursday, March 15. UCF will travel to Coral Gables, Fla. to begin play at 2:30 p.m.
