UCF Pair Ranked in Top Three of Heptathlon After Day One at FSU Relays

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (www.UCFAthletics.com) - With four events of the heptathlon completed, UCF junior Tia Harewood (Wyandach, N.Y./Half Hallow Hills HS) was ranked second and sophomore Sheree Carter (Tallahassee, Fla./Godby HS) stood in third at the FSU Relays on Thursday afternoon.

Harewood collected 2,847 points, while Carter was only four points behind with 2,843 points. Jacksonville's Natasha Harvey was in the top spot with 3,070 points.

Carter opened the day with a personal-best time of 14.92 to place third in the 100-meter hurdles. In the high jump, the two Knights tied for second at 5-feet, 2.50 inches.

Harewood finished the afternoon strong with third-place showings in both the shot put and the 200m dash.
