TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (www.UCFAthletics.com) - Junior Victoria Chin (Orlando, Fla./Oak Ridge HS) won the 400-meter hurdles with an NCAA Regional qualifying time as the UCF women's track and field team completed day two of competition at the FSU Relays.

Chin, who qualified for the NCAA Regionals as a freshman and a sophomore, took first place in a time of 1:00.79. The performance was a personal best and also ranks second all-time at UCF.

Sophomore Sheree Carter (Tallahassee, Fla./Godby HS) and junior Tia Harewood (Wyandach, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East HS) wrapped up competition in the heptathlon. Carter earned first in the 800m at 2:30.77 and was second in the long jump with a leap of 17-feet, 2.75 inches. Her two-day effort gave her 4,377 points to place third overall in the heptathlon, while Harewood followed in fourth with a personal-best 4,214 points.

The Knights also performed well in the throws as junior Kendra Howell (Providence, R.I./LaSalle Academy) claimed third place in the hammer at 144-10 and freshman LaKendra Thames (Winter Garden, Fla./West Orange HS) was fourth at 139-2. Freshman Jessica Francis (Orlando, Fla./Boone HS) took fourth in the discus with a toss of 139-8, edging Thames, who settled for fifth.

In other field events, senior Katie Fowke (Tampa, Fla./Riverview HS) grabbed fourth in the pole vault, while sophomore Dione Thomas (Jacksonville, Fla./Raines HS) was fifth in the long jump.

UCF's 4x200m relay team posted a season-best time of 1:39.08 for fourth place before the Knights capped off the night in the distance events. Freshman Jenny Clausen (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial HS) ran the 5,000m in 17:35.92 to earn fourth place.

Four members of the UCF men's cross country team finished in the top 10 of the 5,000m with senior Ryan White (Boynton Beach, Fla./Santaluces HS) leading the pack in fourth at 15:11.10.
