Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Head coach George O'Leary was once again pleased with the overall effort his Knights gave on Saturday as the team wrapped up its fourth day of spring practice. With a nice contingent of Golden Knight fans on hand to watch the morning session, the team continued to work on installing schemes on both sides of the ball.
"The energy is good and the contact level is good," O'Leary said. "We are making some mistakes and we have to improve our passing game at this time of year, but there are a lot of willing bodies out here and I am pleased with that. The kids are improving and there are some good young players out here."
The Knights got their dose of individual drills in once again before working the last half of the practice primarily in 11-on-11 situations. The defense rose to the challenge of a short-yardage drill at the end of the practice as the unit stopped the offense in two out of three plays.
"The attitude is good out here," O'Leary added. "That is the first thing you notice about a football team. The attitude, the energy and the enthusiasm and right now all three of them are very good so far this (spring). For the fourth day of practice and second day in pads, I am very pleased with the progress."
The Knights have two days off from practice before returning to the fields on Tuesday. Start time for Tuesday's practice is slated for 9:20 a.m.
