Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Following each spring football practice, a general question will be asked of a selected group of Golden Knights. Today's question was:
What motivation does practicing in the shadows of the stadium have on the team?
Jeramy DeVane
#66 Junior Offensive Guard
"We are really going to be at home. We are going to have more fans at the games because it will be easier for them to get there. There will be more energy at the stadium next year. It is a pretty easy motivator, when you look over the fence and see that stadium."
Corey Rabazinski
#84 Sophomore Tight End
"Seeing the stadium in the background brings extra motivation because we are opening up with Texas. I definitely think it brings good motivation to work harder in the spring."
Kevin Smith
#24 Junior Tailback
"When you are practicing every once in a while, you are going to look up and see it. I know that it is only a matter of time before we will be playing at the first on-campus stadium in UCF history. We are going to be a part of history, it feels great."
Javid James
#18 Senior Wide Receiver
"We always look to the stadium before we come out. When, we are in warm-ups and everybody is stretching, they are getting excited about the new day of practice. We see that the stadium is something to reach for. It is going to be like the icing on the cake coming out of camp. The stadium is just the thing that we want. It will feel good to be in there."
Rocky Ross
#5 Senior Wide Receiver
"It brings a lot of excitement knowing that there will be 45,000 fans on campus for a huge school like this. There is a good chance for a sellout. It is hard to notice it in practice, but when I notice it the most is when we watch film. We have cameras pointing at it. It is pretty exciting."
