Previewing Dartmouth

The Big Green own a 4-7 record in 2007, posting victories against Georgia Southern, Ball State and Central Connecticut. Dartmouth returns 10 players from last year's roster and welcomes nine newcomers to the squad. Sophomore Stephanie Trudeau leads the Big Green pitching staff with a 4.11 ERA including 30 strikeouts in 46 innings.

Remember When...

Dartmouth used an eight-run third inning to take the win in the only game played between the two schools on March 19th of UCF's inaugural year. The Golden Knights scored four runs in the third before the Big Green came back and scored eight times. The Black and Gold attempted to rally back but could only get one more run in the top of the seventh, dropping the decision, 8-5.

Player of the Week

Allison Kime was named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week for March 12-18, the conference office announced Monday. Kime pitched her fifth and six shutouts on the season and had a 0.00 ERA against Southern Miss last weekend, moving her record to 10-6 on the season. The junior hurler struck out 23 Golden Eagle batters while only walking three in two complete game victories. In the win on Saturday, the Florida native went the distance striking out 12. She came back on Sunday and held Southern Miss hitless up until the sixth inning and tallied 11 strikeouts. The C-USA weekly award is the fourth of Kime's career.

First or Last...

The Black and Gold are an impressive 11-2 if it scores in the first inning of a contest and have outscored its opponents 11-1 in the seventh inning in 2007. UCF has scored 46 more total runs than its competition in 2007.

Javier on a Tear

Breanne Javier hit .778 in the three game series with Southern Miss and hit .750 (12-for-16) for the week. Against USM, Javier had a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .800 on-base percentage, as well as a 1.000 fielding percentage.

Call the Cops...

Cici Alvarez stole the 75th base of her career March 15 sending her to the top of the UCF all-time leader-board for steals. The senior has 12 steals in 2007 good for fourth place in Conference USA.

A Record Night

The Golden Knights scored 17 runs in the first inning of game two, which tied for second-most (Jacksonville in 2004 and Arizona in 2001) in the NCAA Division I record books.

UCF's 38 total bases in the second outing against Bethune-Cookman smashed the school mark of 31 set in 2005, however it fell one hit shy of tying the record of 22 hits in a ballgame.

Cool Under Pressure

Ashleigh Cole is nearly flawless under pressure in 2007 with runners in scoring position and two outs. Opposing batters have hit a mere .108 (4-for-37) off the freshman pitcher.

Two for the Show

Thirteen of the Golden Knights' 15 players have had multiple-hit games this season. Amber Lamb and Kacie Feaster lead all UCF players with nine total multi-hit affairs.

On the Way Up

With their second victory over Southern Miss on Sunday, the Golden Knights surpassed their win total from a season ago. In 2006, UCF ended its season with a 19-37 mark. Thiry-three games into 2007, the Black and Gold hold a 20-13 record with 27 games left on the regular-season schedule.

Top Third

The UCF pitching staff ranks in the top three in Conference USA standings in six different categories, including taking top honors in batters struck out looking with 58.

K is for Kime

Following the Golden Knights' two Conference USA wins last weekend, Allison Kime moved into second place on UCF's career record charts for strike outs with 341 in her two years at UCF. The fire-baller is 63 strike outs away from surpassing Dottie Cupp who currently sits at the No. 1 spot with 403.

Senior Leaders

Three seniors have been a solid fixture in the UCF lineup this season as Kacie Feaster, Cici Alvarez and Amber Lamb have started all 33 games in the one, two and three spots. Combined, they have accounted for 57 of the Golden Knights' 116 runs and 35 of 97 RBI.

Strokin'

In five games, Breanne Javier moved her batting average from a .225 mark on March 15, to a .313 clip going into Wednesday's match-up. The sophomore hit .750 since then going 12-for-16 from the plate with two doubles and six RBI.

Lucky Day

UCF's all-time record on March 21 is 2-0. The Golden Knights swept Jacksonville in a doubleheader in 2004. This will be the Black and Gold's first home game on this date.
