Kime Named C-USA Softball Pitcher Of The Week

March 19, 2007

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Junior Allison Kime (Brandon, Fla./Hillsborough C.C.) was named the Conference USA Softball Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season after firing back-to-back shutouts in UCF's series win over Southern Miss on March 17-18. The weekly honor is Kime's fourth of her career.

In Saturday's game one victory over the Golden Eagles, Kime struck out 12, while allowing only three hits in the Golden Knights' 2-0 victory. In Sunday's series-clinching win, she held Southern Miss hitless through six innings and fanned 11. Kime only allowed a seventh-inning double en route to securing her sixth shutout of the season.

The Knights return to the field on Wednesday for a doubleheader with Dartmouth. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. at the UCF Softball Complex.
