Previewing Southern Miss
The Golden Eagles have accumulated a 7-16 record in 2007 and a 0-3 record in Conference USA. Southern Miss has wins against teams such as Florida A&M, Stephen F. Austin, Alcorn State and Louisiana Tech. Houston swept Southern Miss in the teams' opening Conference USA series last weekend. Southern Miss leads the all-time series with UCF, taking all three games last year,

Remember When...
UCF last met up with Southern Miss in April 2006. The Golden Eagles took the third of a three-game C-USA sweep, 2-1. Breanne Javier registed two hits off Golden Eagle starter Lacey Gros, while Lindsay Dean accounted for another hit. UCF scored one run in the first inning and it seemed like that was all it would need to win as Allison Kime cruised through the Southern Miss line-up through the fifth however, in the sixth inning the Golden Eagles stepped up big, scoring two runs to rally for the 2-1 victory. Kime went the distance in the circle giving up the two runs on five hits, fanning seven. Gros got the win for Southern Miss allowing one run on three hits while striking out three.

Call the Cops...
Cici Alvarez stole the 75th base of her career Thursday, sending her to the top of the UCF all-time leader-board for steals. The senior has 12 steals in 2007 and was tied for third-place in Conference USA last week.

A Record Night
UCF moved to 18-12 on the season when they swept Bethune-Cookman in a mid-week doubleheader, 9-1 and 18-2 on Thursday, breaking a few records in the process.

The Golden Knights scored 17 runs in the first inning of game two, which tied for second-most (Jacksonville in 2004 and Arizona in 2001) in the NCAA Division I record books.

UCF's 38 total bases in the second outing against Bethune-Cookman smashed the school mark of 31 set in 2005, however it fell one hit shy of tying the record of 22 hits in a ballgame.

Barrow Wheeling To The Top
Hillary Barrow posted two triples against Bethune-Cookman March 15, to become just the second Golden Knight to accomplish the feat in a game. The freshman shares the honor with Stephanie Best who registered two triples back in February 2003 in a game against Morris Brown.
