Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF football team will begin its spring practices on the fields adjacent to the Wayne Densch Sports Center with the first of 15 sessions on Wednesday, March 21. All weekday sessions will begin at 9:20 a.m., while Saturday sessions are slated for 10:05 a.m. start time, except for April 7 when practice will commence at 1 p.m.
Head coach George O'Leary and the Knights are gearing towards a 2007 season that will see the team play its six home games on campus at Bright House Networks Stadium. After 29 seasons at the Florida Citrus Bowl, the UCF-Texas match-up slated for Sept. 15 on ESPN will mark the Knights' first home game on the East Orlando campus.
The 45,000-seat venue will also feature UCF home tilts against Louisiana-Lafayette, Memphis, Marshall, Tulsa and UTEP scheduled for 2007. The 2007 spring practices are open to the public, but fan photography will not be permitted during the sessions.
