IRVING, Texas (www.ucfathletics.com) - Senior forward Keunta Miles (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./South Broward HS) earned a spot on the inaugural Conference USA Women's Basketball All-Academic Team, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.

This season, Miles has started 28 of 29 games for the Golden Knights and recorded a team-high five double-doubles, including two against C-USA rivals. She leads the team in rebounding with 6.7 boards per game and is second in scoring with 11.8 points per outing.

Miles finished the regular season ranked among the conference's top 20 players in points and rebounds. She was also ranked in the top 10 for field goal shooting percentage (46%) and offensive rebounds (3.21 per game).

A criminal justice major, Miles was recently accepted into the Nike So You Want to Be a Coach program, a workshop that provides an educational and professional foundation for minority female basketball players to better prepare them for entering the coaching profession. The two and a half day seminar takes place during the 2007 Women's Basketball Final Four from March 30 through April 1.

Miles is joined on the all-academic team by Marshall's Kendra King, Tulane's Jami Montagnino, Memphis' Devin Necaise and Kristin Chaney and Kendra Reed of Southern Miss.

In order to be nominated for the honor, student-athletes must have a 3.20 or better cumulative grade-point-average and be a starter or key reserve player. The all-academic team was selected by the conference sports information contacts for women's basketball.

The No. 11 seeded Golden Knights (8-21, 3-13 C-USA) face No. 6 SMU (17-11, 9-7 C-USA) in the first round of the 2007 C-USA Championship in Tulsa, Okla. on Thursday, March 1 at 9:30 p.m. ET.
