ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Mayor Buddy Dyer honored the UCF's National Champion cheerleaders during Monday afternoon's city council meeting by proclaiming Feb. 26, 2007 as UCF Spirit Program Day in the City of Orlando.
The ceremony, which took place at 2 p.m., was broadcast live on Orange TV (Bright House Channel 9).
The Golden Knights received the proclamation from Mayor Dyer in recognition of winning their second national championship in January. They also claimed the national title in 2003.
