ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF volleyball team will participate in four events this spring, head coach Meg Colado announced. The squad's spring slate includes a seven-team event at UCF in April.
The Golden Knights will open the season on March 24 in Gainesville, where Florida will also host the College of Charleston and Tampa.
On March 31, Colado's program will welcome Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Miami, USF and Tampa to Orlando. The teams will meet at the Education Gym on campus.
After their home event, the Golden Knights will head to Atlanta and compete in a tournament hosted by Georgia State on April 8. In addition to the host Panthers, Georgia, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, NC State and Tennessee State will be in action. UCF will conclude the spring on April 21 at USF.
"The players have been working extremely hard in the weight room and on the court," said Colado. "The team made an incredible commitment to the program when they entered the spring season and we are reaping the rewards of this."
The Golden Knights will return seven letterwinners from a year ago and welcome four newcomers when they open the 2007 campaign in the fall.
