ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF women's basketball team plays host to Conference USA rival Marshall on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. in its first televised game of the 2006-07 season. CSTV broadcasts the game same day, tape delay at 10 p.m. Eastern with Carter Blackburn as play-by-play announcer and Tammy Blackburn as color analyst.

The Golden Knights (8-19, 3-11 C-USA) will recognize senior guard Francine Houston (Bradenton, Fla./Southeast HS) in a pre-game ceremony. At Memphis on Feb. 17, she scored the 1,000th point of her career and tied her own school record for three-pointers made in a game. Houston remains the team's leading scorer as she averages 13.7 points a contest. She is also listed 16th in the nation in three-pointers made per game with 2.59 and is ranked among the top 50 in the country with a 37.8% shooting percentage behind the arc.

Entering the final weekend of play, Marshall sits eighth in the C-USA standings with a league record of 7-7 and an overall mark of 14-13. After a strong start, the Thundering Herd has lost its previous five games, including a 64-57 defeat to UTEP on Feb. 17.

Senior center Modupe Ishola leads team and is 11th overall among conference players as she averages 14.1 points per game. She is also third in rebounds (10.3) and owns C-USA's best field goal percentage at 57.9%.

With four previous meetings between UCF and Marshall, the Thundering Herd owns the advantage at 3-1. In early January, Marshall earned a 62-58 victory behind a double-double performance from Modupe Ishola, who scored 24 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. UCF seniors Keunta Miles and Francine Houston each sank 14 points, while senior Celeste Hudson added 13.

The two teams split the home-and-home series during the 2005-06 season. Marshall posted a 77-60 victory in Orlando, Fla. on Jan. 20 before UCF edged the Thundering Herd, 66-63 in Huntington, W.Va. on Feb. 24. Marshall also took a 78-77 win in Orlando, Fla. on Jan. 3, 1987.

The Golden Knights conclude the regular season at home against Marshall on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. and East Carolina on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. The 2007 Conference USA Women's Basketball Championship, presented by Aéoropostale, takes place in Tulsa, Okla. from March 1-4. The tournament bracket, including all seeding and game times, is scheduled to be released on Sunday, Feb. 25.
